Getting Started
Setting Up Your Account
Create your account, verify your email, and get ready to post.
Tap "Sign Up" on the landing page and enter your email, a username, and a password. You'll receive a verification email — click the link to activate your account.
Yes. Email verification is required before you can publish poems, leave comments, or follow other poets. This helps keep the community secure.
First check your spam or junk folder, then use the Resend code button on the Verify Your Email screen (there's a short countdown before it's ready) and enter the newest code. If it still doesn't arrive, your address may have a typo — see how to change your email. Full guide: Verifying your email address →
Go to the Sign In page and enter the email and password you signed up with (or use the same social button you joined with). If you turned on two-factor authentication, you'll add one short code to finish. Full guide: Signing in to your account →
On the sign-in page, click "Forgot password?", enter your email, and enter the code we email you to set a new one. Full walkthrough: Resetting your password →
A short welcome wizard helps you personalize things: pick your username, photo, birthday, and country; choose favorite categories and follow a few poets; optionally import poems you've written elsewhere; then post your first poem or head straight to exploring. It takes about a minute, most steps can be skipped, and if you leave partway through you'll pick up right where you left off. Everything can be changed later in Settings.
Almost everything is skippable — each step has a Skip option, and choices like who you follow or your profile photo can be changed any time in Settings. The only required pieces are the basics: a username, your birthday, and your country.
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account on GS Poetry. If you're under 13, you're not eligible to sign up yet. See our Terms and Conditions for the full eligibility details.
