Overview
Locked out because you can’t remember your password? You don’t need to contact anyone to get back in. From the sign-in page you can request a reset, and GS Poetry emails you a code that lets you set a brand-new password on the spot. The whole thing takes a couple of minutes.
Request a reset
- Go to the sign-in page and click Forgot password? beneath the password field.
- Enter the email address on your account and click Send Reset Code.
- Check your inbox — we’ll email you a reset code. For your privacy, the confirmation looks the same whether or not that email has an account, so no one can use this page to find out who’s registered.
Set a new password
- Back on the reset page, enter the code from the email, then type your new password and confirm it. The strength meter and checklist guide you to a password that meets our requirements.
- Click Reset Password. If you have two-factor authentication turned on, you’ll be asked for a code from your authenticator to finish — the same step you’d see signing in.
- That’s it — you’re signed straight in with your new password.
The reset code is only good for a limited time (about a day), so use it soon after you request it. If it expires, just request a fresh one.
The reset code proves you can reach the inbox on the account — that’s what stops someone who only knows your email address from resetting your password. Keep the code to yourself; GS Poetry will never ask you to read it out to anyone.
If something goes wrong
- The email never arrived — check your spam or junk folder, give it a minute, and make sure you entered the same email you signed up with. You can safely request the code again from the sign-in page.
- The code says it’s expired or incorrect — codes are single-use and time-limited. Use the request a new code link on the reset page to get a fresh one, then enter it right away.
- I don’t remember which email I used — try the addresses you use most. If you’re still stuck, that’s really an account-recovery question — see Why your account locked after failed sign-ins.
- I’m asked for a two-factor code I can’t produce — your new password is already set, but the sign-in still needs your second factor. See Lost access to your two-factor authentication to recover it.
- I know my password and just want to change it — you don’t need a reset at all. Once signed in, update it from Settings → Account.
