Three days ago we told you we could not count how many people a boost had reached, and that we would leave it blank rather than make a number up. This is that blank filled in, and somewhere to go and look at it.
What we fixed
A boost now tells you what it did. Open one of your boosted poems and you can see how many times it was put in front of someone, how many separate readers that was, how often the average reader saw it, how many of them opened the poem, and what share of the showings that works out to. It costs nothing to see. Boosting is what you paid for, so how it went is not something we are going to sell back to you
We only count a showing when at least half the poem card sat on someone's screen for a full second. Flying past it in a scroll does not count. That gives you a smaller number than the one we could have shown you, and it is the one that is actually true, which matters more on something you spent credits on
You can find your own boosts now, without hunting. Your stream is built out of the poets you follow, and nobody follows themselves, so until now you could pay for a boost and then have no way to scroll to it and check it was running. There is a view of just your own live boosts, so you can see it is out there
Boosted has its own place on both Discover pages. Boosted Poems sits second on Discover Poems, and Boosted Poets sits second on Discover Poets, so paid poems are somewhere you can go and look on purpose instead of only meeting them by chance in the stream. Everything that was already true stays true: poems that got there on their own come first, and no amount of credits moves a poem into Trending
Those tabs filter and sort like every other tab. One thing you will not find is Most Saved or Most Shared, and that is on purpose: we do not have those counts for a single poem yet, so an option pretending to sort by them would just be shuffling your poems around
There is no way to sort poets by who has boosted the most, and there never will be. That would be a list of who spent the most money wearing the clothes of a list of who is worth reading. You can sort by who is being read, which is earned
How many days your boost has left is yours and nobody else's. Readers still see that a poem is Boosted, which they should, but the clock on it is only your business
If you are a GS Pro member, there is a Boost Performance page in your stats that lines all your boosts up side by side, finished ones included, so you can see which were actually worth the credits. That comparison is the members' part; how any one boost is doing stays free for everybody. If you are not a member you can see what the page looks like rather than finding out it exists by being refused
Your recordings come with you now. When you ask for a copy of everything you have made here, your SoulCast recordings are in it. They were not before. You get one audio file per poem you recorded, named so your player will actually open it, listed alongside the poems they belong to. If anything is too large to fit in one download we name it and tell you why, rather than quietly leaving it out
You can go looking for readings. There is a SoulCast tab on Discover Poems now, and a page at soulcast we can point people to who have never heard one. The tab is ordered by when the reading was recorded, not when the poem was written, so a poem you wrote years ago and read aloud this morning turns up at the top where it belongs, instead of being buried under everything new
We had one thing wrong on the SoulCast page and it is corrected. It said recording was part of being a member, which was not true: recording is part of GS Pro. Listening never costs anything and never will, and that part was always right. It matters more now that there is a page strangers can land on, where nothing else would have set them straight

Yesterday we gave you two things to buy and two words for them. That was a day old and already confusing, so today there is one, it is called boosting, and it is open to everybody.
What we fixed
There is one name for paying to be read and it is boosting. Yesterday you could boost a poem or promote a poem, they were different prices behind different doors, and telling them apart was work nobody should have to do. Promoting is gone as a separate thing. Whatever you bought before still runs for exactly as long as you paid for, in the same places, and it is marked Boosted now like everything else. Nothing was canceled, shortened or refunded
Boosting is for every poet, not just GS Pro members. It was never really a members-only thing, it just read like one, and now the only thing standing between you and a boost is having the credits
You no longer have to highlight a poem before you can boost it. That rule cost you one of your few highlight slots to unlock something you were paying for anyway, which is backwards. Any public poem of yours can be boosted now, and highlighting stays free and stays yours to use on whatever you actually want at the top of your profile
Older work has a cheaper way back into the light. A poem at least a month old can go into the boosted slots for two days for 15 credits, which is small enough to be worth doing with credits you earned rather than credits you bought. The seven-day boost is unchanged at 50
If you chose to show your birthday, your profile stopped opening for everybody else. The piece that shows other people your month and day while keeping your year to yourself was the piece that broke, so anyone who came to read you got a page that never finished loading. You had no way of noticing: your own profile looked completely normal to you the whole time, because your year is only ever hidden from other people, never from you. It works again, and your birthday still shows exactly the way you set it, month and day, no year

Promoting a poem is switched on today, and the first thing we did with it was take paid placement off Discover. Two of you wrote in about boosting this month and most of what is below came out of those two messages.
What we fixed
Recommended Poems on your stream actually recommends poems now. It had been sitting on "More poems to recommend soon" for everybody, because it was quietly built out of the leftovers of the Trending list beside it and only had anything to show once Trending held six poems or more. It has its own reading list now, drawn from what is rising and what has just been published, and it never repeats whatever Trending is already showing next to it
If you have boosted a poem, it moved with everything else. Boosting had one spot at the top of Discover and it does not any more, so instead your boost now rides the same new places promoted poems do: one poem in every five in the stream, the end of other people's poems, and your own profile. It keeps its own name and its own gold mark, because boosting and promoting are two different things you can buy and you should always be able to tell which one you are looking at. Nothing you already paid for was lost, and you do not have to buy anything again
Discover Poems is earned, the whole way down. The paid block that used to sit above it is gone, whether you are signed in or not, so the first thing anyone sees on that page is poems that got there on their own. Trending is the same and always has been: no amount of credits moves a poem into it
You can promote a poem now, if you are a GS Pro member. It buys readers, not a place at the top. Your poem is dealt into the stream as one poem in every five, shown at the end of other people's poems, and gathered together on your own profile, and it is marked Promoted every single time so nobody has to wonder. If you are not a member you still see what it is and what it costs on your own poem, rather than finding out it exists by being turned away from it
Promoted poems take turns, so paying is not a matter of outbidding anyone. Every poet gets one slot before any poet gets a second, and the slots move round through the day, so a poem that is not showing this minute comes round again instead of sitting behind someone else for the whole week you paid for. If you are the only poet promoting, you get the lot
A poem you promote lifts the rest of your work with it. Your promoted poems now show at the end of your other poems and under Poems on your profile, so a reader who came for one of them can find everything else you have written without going looking

All three of these came from poets writing in to tell us something was wrong. If you reported one of them, this is it fixed.
What we fixed
If you centered a line, indented one, made some words larger, or set a line as a quote, the poem you published did not keep any of it. You set it in the editor, it looked right there, and then it saved as plain lines and the work was gone with no warning. Those four now survive being published, and they look the same on the poem page and in Focus Mode. Four other buttons still do not carry through, and we would rather tell you than let you find out: text color, highlight, links and images. Each is being worked out rather than forgotten
Boosted poems on Discover now take turns. If one poet boosted several poems at once they filled every slot, and everyone else's boost stayed invisible for the rest of the week they had paid for. Each poet now gets one slot before anyone gets a second, so a boost you buy is a boost readers can actually see. If you are the only poet boosting, you still get the whole row
Buying credits works. If you tried before today and the credits never turned up, nothing was charged either. No money left your account, and there is nothing owed back to you. We put a real card through it ourselves before writing this line

One thing, found on a poet who had only just joined. If you have your profile set so that only poets can see it, this is about what everybody else was getting instead.
What we fixed
A profile you are not allowed to see now says so, in a sentence. Until today a poet who had set their profile to poets only got shown to signed-out visitors as a half-built page with their name on it: an empty picture, and a zero for their poems, their followers, the people they follow and their reads, none of which were their real numbers. Collections and the Trophy Case came back as errors when you pressed them, and Followers sat loading and never stopped. It now tells you plainly that the profile is not public, and offers you a way in: signing in brings you straight back to the page you were trying to reach. A poet who keeps their profile to their followers gets the same treatment, with wording that says it is their followers who can see it. The app gets the explanation too, instead of the error it used to show.
