Your Home Stream
What your home stream shows, how it's ordered, and the Daily Prompt, Today's Poem, and Trending Poems widgets beside it.
The home stream is your live activity stream of new poems, status posts, comments, likes, milestones, and more from the poets you follow, mixed with your own activity and anything aimed at you. It's where most of your time on GS Poetry starts. Full guide: Understanding the stream →
Newest first, and built around the poets you follow. It pulls activity from the people you follow, your own activity, and events that involve you directly — like someone commenting on your poem — and shows the most recent at the top. Following more poets whose work you love is the main way to shape what appears.
The Daily Prompt is a short writing prompt that appears in a card beside your stream — one new line each day, the same for everyone, refreshed automatically. When one sparks something, click Write to this prompt to open the poem composer and start writing. It's just a starting point and it's free for every poet.
The Today's Poem card features one poem each day — the same poem for everyone, shown with the date, the poem's title, and its poet, plus a Read Today's Poem button. A new poem takes the spot every day. More in the stream guide →
The pick is automatic and fair — it rotates through public poems by poets with public profiles, so every eligible poem gets its day. It can't be bought and there's no editor playing favorites. To be eligible, publish poems set to Public and keep your profile public.
The Trending This Week card is a numbered list of the poems drawing the most attention this week, each with its rank, title, read count, and author. It's earned from real reads and engagement, not paid placement, and refreshes through the week. Poems are tagged Trending or Emerging, so standout work from newer poets appears alongside established names.
Because it's connected to you — it was published or acted on by a poet you follow, it's your own activity, or it involves you directly (for example, someone liked or commented on your poem). Anyone you've blocked or snoozed is filtered out, and private or deleted work never appears.
Head to gspoetry.com/stream/home — that's your home stream. If you want to find new poets to fill it out, browse Discover Poets and follow the ones whose work you enjoy; their activity then flows into your stream.
