Online Status & Presence
Hide the green dot from everyone with one switch — or schedule invisible hours, hide from specific people, and control DMs while hidden with GS Pro.
Go to Settings → Privacy, scroll to More Privacy Controls, and flip the Hide Online Status switch. That one switch is free for every account and turns off your green dot and last-seen caption for everyone at once. Full walkthrough: Hiding your online status →
Hiding your online status only suppresses your green dot and last-seen caption — the other person can still visit your profile, read your poems, comment, follow you, and (depending on your settings) send DMs. Block is the hard cut: it removes their access to your profile, your poems, and your inbox. Use Hide when you want quiet presence; use Block when you want a real boundary. More on Block, mute, and report →
No. There's no notification, no badge, and no visible indicator — your green dot simply doesn't appear for them. From their side it looks exactly like you happen not to be online.
No. Hiding your status only affects the green dot and last-seen caption. Your profile, poems, comments, and everything else stay exactly as visible as your other privacy settings say they should be. If you want to hide your profile itself, set your profile visibility to Private (Hidden) in the same Privacy settings panel.
Up to 200. The hide list is a GS Pro feature — free accounts use the single master toggle that hides your status from everyone at once. More on the GS Pro advanced controls →
Yes. If your Until time is earlier than your From time, the schedule wraps past midnight automatically — 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM means "hide me overnight." A small Wraps past midnight note appears next to the time pickers when this happens. The schedule is a GS Pro feature.
The Advanced hiding options panel is a GS Pro feature. Free accounts see an Upgrade Now card in place of the pill — that's expected. Confirm your subscription is active under Settings → Membership if you believe you should have access. More on Advanced hiding options →
The search uses the person's username (their
@handle), not their display name. The lookup is case-insensitive, so any case works. If you only know their display name, open their profile from the search bar at the top of the site — their username appears in the URL.If the master Hide Online Status toggle is on, you're already hidden from everyone 24/7, so the schedule sits inactive by design — there's nothing for it to do. Turn the master toggle off and the schedule resumes the next time the current time crosses your From threshold.
They may be looking at a cached page. Ask them to refresh, or wait a minute or two and check again. If it persists, contact support.
Your saved settings stay on file. While GS Pro is inactive, only the free master toggle applies — the schedule and the hide list don't take effect. The moment you resubscribe, both pick up exactly where they left off.
