Going deeper with GS Analytics Pro

Overview

Your free stats page shows your activity and reads. GS Analytics Pro adds the context that helps you grow: where you stand, who is reading, what is working, and how close you are to your next badge. Each part has its own page in the menu on the left.

Time ranges

Most GS Analytics Pro pages have time buttons at the top: 7d (last 7 days), 30d, 90d, 1y (last 12 months) and all (all time). Pick one and the page updates. On a free account only 7d and 30d are unlocked, here and on your stats page.

Where you stand

Activity Overview opens with your rank for this week (the last 7 days), based on reads: a percentile (“Top X%”) and your place among active poets (“#rank of N”). It also shows your rank inside each category you write in. If nobody has read your poems this week yet, the rank shows up as soon as readers do. (If you make the weekly Rising Poets list, that spot shows free on your stats page. This panel ranks you among every active poet, on the list or not.)

Poem performance

• Per-Poem Engagement: reads, likes, responses, shares, saves and rating for each poem. Sort by any column, search by title, or filter by category or poetic form.
• Poem Ratings: each poem’s average star score and how many people rated it. Your baseline is your usual score, the average across all your poems. Outperforming Your Baseline lists the poems that beat it by at least half a star. Rating Distribution shows how many 5-star to 1-star ratings you got, for all your poems together and for each poem.
• Member vs Non-Member Reads: how many of your reads come from signed-in members, and how many come from people who aren’t members, like visitors from search engines and social media.

Geographic reach

Two maps show where your readers are: Reach by Country for the whole world, and Reach by Region for U.S. states. Hover over a place to see its share of your reads.

Comment and response insight

Comment Studio shows your response rate (how many comments you reply to), how long you usually take to reply, your Top Commenters, the poems with the most comments, and When Conversation Arrives: how many comments come in the first 24 hours, in week 1, after week 1, and on older threads that came back to life.

Response Poems does the same for poems written in reply to yours: how many you’ve drawn over time, how many per 1,000 reads, how far they reach, and which of your poems get the most responses. See Response poems.

Boost Performance

If you boost poems, Boost Performance compares all your boosts side by side and over time, so you can see which ones paid off. The numbers for each single boost (the How’s it doing? link) stay free. See Seeing how your boost is doing.

Milestone Forecast

Milestone Forecast lists every badge track in your Trophy Case, one row each, with how close you are to the next badge. There are eight tracks:

• Poems published, Followers and Total reads (reads on your poems).
• Comments written: the comments you leave on other poems that are still showing. Comments other people leave on your poems don’t count here.
• Writing streak and Reading streak: days in a row you publish, or read, a poem.
• Insight Reader: the different days you open your GS Pro analytics. They don’t have to be in a row, and this count never resets.
• GS Pro tenure: how long you’ve been a paying member.

How to read a row

• The ring. The number in the middle is where you stand today (“You have 12 poems”). The colored part of the ring fills up from your last badge to your next one, so it starts over after each badge. A full green ring means you’ve earned every badge on that track.
• The title names the track and your next badge, for example “Poems Published: Next badge at 25 published poems.”
• The estimate beside the title is about how long until you get there, like “~18 days.” For GS Pro tenure it is a date instead.
• The paragraph underneath explains the numbers in plain words.

How the estimate is worked out

• Poems, followers, reads and comments use your recent pace (for example, “about 1 every 4 days”). If you keep that pace, that’s how long it takes.
• Streaks count the days left, as long as you keep the streak going. Miss a day and the streak starts over from day 1.
• Insight Reader assumes you check in once a day.
• GS Pro tenure counts from the day your paid membership started. It counts up on its own while your membership stays active.

When there’s no estimate

• Not enough history yet. The pace tracks need at least 14 days of activity before they can guess. The row tells you how many days we have so far.
• No recent activity. If you haven’t published, gained followers, been read or commented lately, there’s no pace to go on. The estimate comes back once that picks up.
• A streak ended. The ring shows 0 days. Start again today to get back on track.

The forecast refreshes about every 30 minutes, so a new poem or follower can take a little while to show.

Trophy Case and your monthly report

• Trophy Case: your badges and streaks are free for everyone on your profile. In GS Analytics Pro the Trophy Case also shows your current streaks at the top, and each track shows about how many days until your next badge.
• Monthly Report: a one-page PDF of your month you can download, share or print. The last 6 months are available.
