Follow Requests
How follow requests work when your profile is set to Private in Privacy Settings — review, accept, or decline incoming requests.
Not in this version. Requests are silent and just say "X requested to follow you." If you want to introduce yourself first, send the poet a comment on one of their public works — or wait until they accept and then send a message.
Yes. Go back to the same profile and tap Requested. A confirmation dialog will appear asking Cancel your follow request to [username]? — click Confirm. The button reverts to Send Follow Request and the request disappears from the owner's inbox without ever notifying them. You can always send a new request later.
Note: To minimize unwanted harassment, once a poet has declined your follow request twice, you can no longer request to follow them. Canceling your own pending request doesn't count against this.No — there are no pending requests for a public profile. Requests can only exist while the profile is in Private (Hidden) mode. When you flip to Private, the count starts at zero.
The Follow / Request button updates based on your relationship. If you're already following, you'll see Unfollow. Otherwise you'll see Follow, or Send Follow Request if their profile is private. The system won't create duplicate or conflicting requests.
Block deletes any pending request between you two and prevents new ones from being created. From your side, your profile button will silently fail when you try to request.
The owner hasn't acted on the request yet — and they might not. There's no expiration date. You're free to cancel and re-request later, leave it pending, or move on. There's no notification trail either way; nothing happens behind the scenes to nudge them.
Note: To minimize unwanted harassment, once a poet has declined your follow request twice, you can no longer request to follow them. Canceling your own pending request doesn't count against this.
Not as a separate setting — but switching your profile visibility away from Private has the same effect. As soon as your profile is no longer Private, the request flow turns off and people follow you directly (subject to whichever visibility you choose).
The other tab will catch up the next time it gains focus (or the next time you refresh). You may see the request briefly still listed before it reconciles, but accepting twice has no effect.
