Overview
Canceling GS Pro is self-serve and takes a couple of clicks — no phone calls, no retention forms, no emailing support. And because canceling only stops the next renewal, you keep every GS Pro feature until the end of the period you've already paid for.
How to cancel
- Go to Settings → Membership.
- In Manage Your Subscription, click Cancel Renewal.
- A short confirmation appears — it reminds you of the date your access runs until and, if you're on monthly, offers the option to switch to annual instead. To go ahead, click Cancel Anyway.
- You'll see confirmation that your renewal is canceled. Your membership stays active until your current period ends, then drops to Free automatically.
You don't lose access the moment you cancel — that would mean paying for time you can't use. Canceling simply turns off the next charge, and you keep GS Pro through the end of the period you already paid for. The free week that every new account starts with works differently: there's no card on file, so there's nothing to cancel — it simply ends on its own, your account moves to Free, and you're only ever charged if you choose to subscribe.
Changing your mind (resume)
If you canceled but haven't reached the end of your period yet, you can undo it instantly:
- Go to Settings → Membership.
- On the status card (now showing Renewal canceled), click Resume membership.
- Your membership goes back to renewing normally on its usual date — nothing else changes.
If your period has already ended and you've dropped to Free, you're welcome back any time — just subscribe again from the pricing page. Your poems, followers, and history are all still there.
If something goes wrong
- "Will I get a refund for the rest of the period?" There's normally nothing to refund — canceling keeps your access until the period you paid for ends, so you use the full time you bought. If you do need a refund, you can request one per charge from Settings → Membership → Billing History — see Payments, invoices, and receipts.
- "I don't see a Cancel button." If your membership is past-due, resolve the payment first (you'll see an Update payment method prompt). Complimentary memberships have nothing to cancel in billing.
- "What happens to my work after I cancel?" Nothing — every poem stays published and yours. You only lose the Pro-only features. See What happens when GS Pro ends.
Where to go next
