Reading a poem page
A tour of a poem page: the details under the title, the backstory, SoulCast, Like & Share, ratings, comments, and More from.
Reviewed regularly to match the current app.
Overview
Every poem on GS Poetry has its own page. This guide walks it from top to bottom, so you know what each part is for — whether you’re reading someone else’s poem or looking at your own.
The top of the poem
- Banner. If the poet added a Poem Photo Banner, it runs across the top of the poem.
- Title and poet. The title, then “by” and the poet’s username, with a Follow button if you don’t follow them yet.
- The details line. When it was Published, the year it was Written (if the poet added one), its categories and poetic form, and the Collection it belongs to. A poem in several collections says, for example, “and 2 more,” which opens the poet’s Collections.
- Backstory. If the poet shared the story behind the poem, a strip shows its first sentence. Read the story opens the rest.
- SoulCast. If the poet recorded the poem in their own voice, the player sits just above it. Anyone can listen. More on the player →
- Focus Mode. The button in the corner (or the F key) shows the poem on its own, without anything around it.
Like & Share
Beside the poem (or under it on a phone) is the Like & Share card. It shows how many reads and comments the poem has, then Like and Save with their counts. Sign in to use them. Saved poems are private: the poet is never told who saved their work.
Under Share this poem you can Copy the link, or share it by Email, Facebook, X or a direct Message.
On your own poem, See who liked this poem lists everyone who liked it, newest first, with a Follow back button for each person. Only you can see that list; everyone else sees just the number.
Ratings & Feedback
Readers can rate a poem from one to five stars and leave the poet a private, anonymous note. Ratings are never shown publicly. On your own poem, the same card shows your average, how many ratings you have, and any notes readers left. Full guide →
Supporting the poet
- Send a coffee gives the poet 25, 50 or 100 of your credits. GS Poetry takes nothing.
- Gift a Boost buys their poem a boost so more readers find it: 7 days for 50 credits, or 2 days for 15 credits on poems at least 30 days old. If the poem is already boosted, the button is grayed out and shows when that boost ends.
- Report This Poem is there if something is wrong, including a problem with a SoulCast reading.
Comments
Below the poem is the conversation. Add your own in the Add to the conversation… box, reply to any comment or reply, and like the ones you agree with. Switch between Top and Newest, and use Show more comments to load more, 10 at a time. The cards just under the comment box show the comments the poet pinned, or the most-liked one. More on commenting →
If it’s your poem, the Comment Controls card lets you hide comments, close them to new ones, or stop comment notifications for that poem. More →
More from the poet
At the bottom, More from shows up to three more of the poet’s poems, so one poem always leads to more of their work. Poems the poet boosted come first, marked Boosted. Each card uses the poem’s banner, or a card in its category’s color when there isn’t one.
