Create your first profile
Set your cover image, profile photo, name, quote, and bio so readers know who they're following.

Overview
Your profile is the first thing a reader sees before they decide to follow you, so it’s worth a few minutes. Everything lives in one place: Settings → Edit Profile. Fill it in top to bottom, then click Save Changes at the bottom to publish it. Here’s each field, in the order you’ll meet it.
Cover photo
The wide banner across the top of your profile. Click it and choose Change Cover Photo — you can pick from the built-in gallery or upload your own image (JPG, PNG, or WEBP). After you choose one, drag it up or down to reposition, then Save Position. It won’t go live until you save the whole page.
Profile photo
Your round avatar — the face that appears on every poem, comment, and follow. Click it to Update Profile Photo: choose from your uploaded photos or upload a new one, then use the crop-and-zoom tool to frame it just right before applying. Keep the image under 5MB.
Your name and username
Fill in your First Name and Last Name, and set your Username — by default your username is what’s displayed publicly across the site. As you type a username, GS Poetry checks whether it’s available. A couple of things to know: your username can only be changed once every 30 days, and once your name is saved it may be locked — if you ever need it changed after that, contact support.
Your quote
The Quote is a short line that sits right under your username — up to 80 characters. Think of it as your headline: a favorite line, a theme you return to, or a few words that say what your poetry is about.
About Me
About Me is your bio — up to 1,000 characters to tell people who you are, how you write, and what moves you. This is the paragraph a reader skims before following, so it does real work.
A good bio is specific and human. Instead of “I love writing,” name the forms you reach for, the themes you keep circling, or what you hope a reader feels. One vivid detail is worth more than three general ones — and it gives fellow poets something real to connect over.
Birthday and location
A few remaining fields round things out. Birthday is used for legal compliance and is hidden across the site by default — note that changes to it are limited, so enter it carefully. Gender Identity is optional. Under Location you can add your city, state or province, and country; if you’d rather keep it vague, tick Hide Location to show only your country. When everything looks right, click Save Changes.
